the big TwentyOne.
for 21 years of my life, i have never once never celebrated my birthday.. so whenever i do mention "aiyah birthday only, no big deal" well that's probably me half lying to you. i do feel it's just a birthday but at the same time.. i'm so used to having it being celebrated i suppose it has became a yearly norm, whether small or big i'd still celebrate it with my friends and family. i must say i've been spoilt rotten because most of my birthdays were not planned by me but my friends and family. never really liked planning only thanks to the capital 'L' permanently buried in my soul (aiyah) :P i was especially lazy this year only because i had my last paper on my birthday, to make it more depressing.. it was a 2 hour paper at 3friggingPm. Ok, let's not go there..
the initial plan for my birthday was to have dinner with my parents like how we do every other year but the venue mom wanted to bring me was fully booked and she 'mati mati' wanna go to that specific restaurant so it got postponed to the next day instead! SO WHAT WAS I GONNA DO ON THE REAL DATE? lol i know mom would still bring me out no matter what... so anyway i told Kyean that i wasn't doing anything that night because of blabla, not to mention my boyfriend told me he couldn't take me out because he had to attend his sister's big birthday celebration (weeps in the corner T.T). Kyean immediately told me she'll date me that night *burst out in joy* hehe such an awesome friend who even cancelled a job for meeeeee!
the day before my birthday eve i sprained my right ankle pretty badly, for the first time i cried while i had to limp my way to my mani and pedi appointment in Hartamas. mind you, i have a high tolerance when it comes to pain. will talk about this in another post :) (stay tuned) so Kyean's first plan in bringing me to Majestic Hotel for buffet needed to be cancelled or else she had to be my butler for the night too hehe.
We ended up at PLOY, WORK@Clearwater in Damansara. we were slightly over an hour late for our reservation thanks to Waze/kyean's bad sense of direction hahaha! (don't keel me plz) imagine that area had no U-turn and it was a Friday night (let your imagination go wild!) she wanted to surprise me but i ended up leading the way! hehe you're still awesome my love!
By the time we got there it was around 9pm :)
"Ploy with your food" their very kawaii catch phrase! according to their website, Ploy means Gem in thai but their food is a fusion of Thai and Japanese! both our favorite :)

... and suddenly in the midst of our selfie session..
THE MOST HANDSOME "WAITER" SNUCK UP BEHIND ME WITH A GORGEOUS 3-TIER CAKE AND A BALLOON SINGING 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY'! but of course it was no other than my boyfriend :') these 2 amazing people went through so much effort in planning this entire surprise for me!!! despite the amount of lies these two have told me (for my happiness!!!) i was beyond touched and happy! definitely an unforgettable moment!

I still couldn't believe my eyes when i saw this boy at dinner, he even whatsapp-ed me a long msg after my exam about how he might not be able to see after my dinner date with Kyean! omg so real how could i have even guessed this? i constantly poked him to see if he was just an illusion HAHAHA! and poor boy had to hide in some private room for a really long time to make sure i don't see him!

TomYamtini (only because it sounded too cool! Tomyam + Martini WERTTT?), sounds like heaven to my TomYam lovers out there, no? a concoction of absolut blue vodka, lemongrass, ginger flower, kaffir lime leaves, chili & lime juice! surprisingly, YUM!

don't fancy raw food but this was some good Tuna! roe oozing out in the middle of a rice bowl, wrap wrap wrap and nomnomnom!
my main, Australian Tenderloin Steak with their local herbal sauce which tasted thai-ish. the steak itself was tender and juicy.
Kyean ordered their signature dish, PLOY's Black Friend Rice. it's black because they used squid ink! mix well with the raw yolk and bon appetite!
Jaszril had the spicy corn beef spaghetti, not ordinary corn beef but Brazilian corn beef!
