Nerovivo Lunch Date ♥

I got a lovely surprise text from Vanessa two weeks ago inviting me out on a date! Her boyfriend who is a close friend of mine has always mentioned that we (Nessa and I) needed to meet when she comes to KL cause he was real certain that we would get along and so the three of us met up for dinner and to no surprise, Nessa and I clicked immediately. She's totally how I imagined her to be, easy going and real cheerful with her British accent, hawt! Not to mention she's absolutely gorgeous! Too bad guys, she's taken :P I still remember for the very first time we greeted each other on skype, her accent was so strong it was amusing! Can't help but be a little of a 'jakun' hehehe! I don't come across asian girls with a strong British accent very often k... Not to mention that it's the real deal!!

So we agreed to go for an Italian lunch! I've been to Nerovivo once but it was years ago during a family dinner and I can't remember what I ate so I can say it's sort of my first time there too.. no?

Buffalo Mozzarella & Tomatoes
SAM_3931
"fritto della casa" basically deep fried squid, prawns, white baby fish with delicious creamy dip!
SAM_3946
one of Nerovivo's classic pasta dish, Squid ink taglietelle crab pasta!
The taste of it was out of the world! Tasted really buttery yet not jelak and that distinct crab flavor went so well together. Their pastas are homemade so it was thick enough, cooked to perfection!
SAM_3938
That poised moment before I ruined my red lipstick and devoured this pasta dish which included using my hands (how else would I eat crab huh?)! Poor Nessa had to see such a sight... on our first date! hahaha!
SAM_3949
homemade Scialatelli pasta with mix seafood, white wine & saffron sauce
yummy yum!
SAM_3934
Behind that sweet innocent smile is an extremely hungry girl! hehehe.

sorry for the bad photography :(
SAM_3952
Chocolate Fondant
Their dessert selection wasn't very creative so we went for this chocolatey explosion (close enough).
SAM_3953
Let it flow, let it flowwww..

and what's a girl date without more pictures of ourselves?

Conversations about everything and anything under the sun over excellent pasta! There was never a dull or awkward moment, like as though we've known each other for sometime now haha! If only you didn't need to leave, :( I already feel attached even though we've only met twice hahahaha!! Till we meet again Nessa!

Opium, Changkat Bukit Bintang - "For 2 Please!"

Yang and i are similar in certain ways, especially when it comes to food. I usually always leave it to him to choose the restaurant cause i for one can't seem to decide unless i'm craving for something specific, like if i wanted to have steamboat, i'd just keep going on and on about it till you get me some of that wet fish ball, what you don't like to eat wet fish balls? pfft. lol anyway what we find way more exciting is when we both discover new places to eat and it's usually spontaneous and unplanned.

Changkat is probably one of the most happening places at night, there's never a night empty and quiet.. always filled with people, especially tourists! Besides the colorful nightlife, food is plentiful and good food is easily sniffed out (just made us sound like a frigging dog, my bad).

Opium is probably one of the most unique restaurants along the main street of Changkat. Its ambience brings you back to the olden oriental days where men would smoke on opium and drink alcohol while being accompanied by women with Terasa Teng playing in the background.

this blog post will consist of pictures from our first and second night there!

Our first night at Opium was just for their drinks and snacks because the kitchen was already closed :(    SAM_2994SAM_2993

Fresca Mexican Kitchen & Bar + Dolly Dim Sum @ Avenue K

Took my pirana out because she's back for the holidays once again, so happy to see her pretty face and there will be many more dates to come! She's one of those few friends i can really be myself with and so it's like a treat meeting her ever since she left for Kangaroo land.

So brunch it was! we were thinking to have something in Bangsar where we would normally have our dates but nah! decided to get out and head to town. i thought of Dolly Dim Sum as it is a relatively new restaurant with a lovely modern version of a traditional chinese tea house located in Avenue K. I also heard some good reviews about their food (despite it being halal, ya no real char siew pao *sad face*).

To our utmost surprise, Fresca Mexican Kitchen was sharing half of the restaurant space! they both share the same owner :)

We were feeling mexican + dimsum so we cross-orders between Fresca and Dolly!

Taipei 101 Part 2 (August, 2014)

Before arriving in Taipei, the boys were bragging about how most of the girls in Taipei are gorgeous and the percentage of finding a bad looking girl is almost impossible! well obviously i couldn't believe such exaggeration -.-'

DSC_0296
So this is me scouting for some pretty Taiwanese babes in the morning by our mini balcony! ok..I lied, it's just me posing by the balcony :p

Back to the topic of Taiwanese girls, I've gotta agree that a large number of Taiwanese girls here in Taipei are slim, has legs for days, owns dark colored hair (yes it's rare for you to see girls there with very bright colored hair, which really surprised me as fashion is everything over to them!) and lastly the most obvious trait would be their way of speaking Mandarin, super cute with a sing-song tone which can come across as either adorable or annoying to some people. I personally thought it was fine because it sounded pleasant to the ears, better than speaking in a rude and loud manner.. no? The boys of course were in much fascination, some kind of "eargasm" to them, tsktsk :p

DSC_0275
banana milk was YUMMY!

We decided to travel out of the city area to Jhuzihu, Yangmingshan! The taxi driver got lost for quite sometime on our way to our destination and to make things worse, the driver drove a bit recklessly and to top it off.. the roads in that area didn't have any bumps! HAHA it was quite a hell of a ride. With the help of strangers and the internet we managed to finally find the place! No complains though, the view on the way up was breathtaking and thankfully for the perfect weather, everything went well :)

Kuan Chen Restaurant is a 11 year old Chinese restaurant famous for its mountain chicken and everything else mountain grown, vegetables and etc!

So there were no taxis around AT ALL, we had no choice but to walk down till we found a bus stop along the way. The sweat didn't matter when you're with great company, AWWW :3
DSC_0414

The bus driver was a chatterbox, he couldn't stop rattling off to Jone about what we could do in Taipei and just basically about everything under the sun. Poor jone felt so obliged to listen and respond when he was dead tired from the heat, he ended up falling asleep (his only escape from anymore grandfather stories!!). lol!

We got dropped off safe and sound around the town area and started walking once more!

Our legs brought us to the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall located in Zhongzheng District.

We couldn't stop perspiring, especially me who can't stand the slightest heat.. damn the queue was hella long!
DSC_0473
After so much sweat, we've made it to the front ma beetches!
IMG_2196
SOOOOOO FRIGGING WORTH THE SWEAT NO JOKE!
During the lineup, boys asked me what flavor i wanted and being that typical girl i said "Strawberry" and all of them disagreed! wtf right? Ask me for what?? Then they even said there isn't anymore BUT TADAAAAH STRAWBERRY FOR THIS BERRYBITCH! sweet boys :3

So we got Mango, Strawberry and Peanut! A bit regretful that we didn't order their special flavors (partially my fault because i kept insisting on strawberry and mango hehehe) like Milk Tea, Red Bean and etc. They do have hot desserts too and other delish treats! Our favorite was Peanut, that bowl of peanut puree thing is sticky and gooey, goes really well with the fine peanut ice! The prices are a bit on the high side but who cares SO GOOD and underneath all that ice is a generous amount of fresh strawberries and mango! Average of $200 per bowl :)

Ended up at a cute Yakitori Restaurant called Tomodachi by the alley in Da'an District which is just a 10 minute walk away from where we were staying. It's ambiance makes you feel like you're in Japan, small and cozy!
